Extensive environmental studies

Since the design of the EMILI project, Imerys has initiated environmental studies (including studies on natural environments, hydraulic and hydro-geological studies) to estimate any potential impact on populations and the environment, and to provide solutions.

Imerys conducts comprehensive studies and simulations to estimate any potential impacts on populations and the environment and will implement appropriate measures to prevent and mitigate these impacts.

Imerys has mobilized a specialized design office to perform an ecological diagnosis on the area defined in the Exclusive Research Permit (PER). This diagnosis includes watercourses and will be followed by comprehensive inventories of impacted areas and their surroundings.

A comprehensive ecological inventory had already taken place in 2019 as part of the renewal of the kaolin quarry and had resulted in avoidance, reduction and compensation measures on the natural environments.

Imerys’ teams are made up of geologists, mining engineers, Hygiene, Safety and Environment (HSE) specialists, experts in mineral processing and industrial project development to identify potential impacts, provide solutions and develop projects that respect people and the environment.
