The EMILI project is an integrated project that includes all the stages in the production of the lithium hydroxide required for electric vehicle batteries. There are specific sites for each of these stages, from extraction to shipment, all grouped together in the Allier region.
Imerys has made a number of strategic choices to make EMILI a responsible project with controlled environmental and social impacts: an underground mine, location of the sites, transport, environmental and water resource conservation, tailings management and discharge control, employment and dialogue.
