The public debate that concluded in September does not mark the end of dialogue, but rather the start of a new phase: ongoing consultation.
An ongoing dialogue
For this new stage, the National Public Debate Commission (Commission nationale du débat public – CNDP) will appoint one or more guarantors in early 2025. Imerys will work with them on the arrangements for public information and dialogue.
In the short and medium term, the mechanism could rely on monitoring committees for each site, thematic work groups, implementation of the requirements set out in the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA) standard, and regular notification of the results of the various environmental and social studies.
